Frame building elements
The LLC „Beton Complex” is incorporated under the Industrial and Construction Group «Kovalska», which is Ukraine’s leading manufacturer of concrete mixtures, concrete- and reinforced-concrete products, and follows the policy of permanent advancement and stable growth.
One of the factors to indicate such advancement was the full-scale implementation of facilities for manufacture of precast reinforced-concrete structures employed in the construction of blocked buildings of integral use (as premises for office, industrial, trading and entertainment applications), featuring the column spacing of up to 14 õ 24 m and the total area of 12 000 m2 and over.
The scope of construction of blocked buildings in Ukraine has increased considerably over the last years. Primarily, this is the result of quick development of business activity, enhancement of economical efficiency of construction, and, tight installation schedules against the ever-increasing demand for areas of multi-purpose use and free planning.
Depending on design solutions and specifications of frame elements, the present-day production facilities of the LLC «Beton Complex» can ensure the manufacture of precast concrete products for framed buildings at the level of up to 40 000 m3 per year. The manufacturing process goes along with operational inspection, similar to that implemented by leading European companies.
In the sphere of “precast concrete for framed buildings” product category the Industrial and Construction Group «Kovalska» aims to increase its production facilities and provide for the entire range of services ranging from engineering to erection of structures.
Precast concrete: sphere of application
The technology of construction of framed buildings using precast concrete offers considerable perspectives to many spheres of application of the present-day construction industry. In particular, this technology is employed in erection of industrial, trading, entertainment and sporting buildings, as well as logistical centers with total area exceeding 10 000 m2. The rapid development of construction technologies (formwork bracing and reinforcement systems) employed in the manufacture of precast reinforced-concrete structures offers the possibility of construction of objects featuring complex architectural solutions, and varying in height and intended use.
The major advantages offered by precast reinforced-concrete structures for construction of framed buildings include::
- Free planning of framed building internal area;
- Reduced terms of installation, and, elimination of electric welding works;
- No auxiliary finishing required for reinforced-concrete elements of frame;
- Structural compliance with mandatory fire-fighting requirements under no special measures to enhance fire-resistance;
- Low expenses to maintain due technical condition of structures throughout service life;
- High quality of prefabricated structures;
- Installation works can be done under low-temperature conditions;
- Minimal material content of structures due to individual approach in design and development

Among the types of reinforced-concrete frames available nowadays considerable use is made of the combined type featuring a 12õ12 m column grid, and composed of reinforced-concrete foundation and columns, and metal structures in ceiling. However, when additional loads on the ceiling are involved, e.g. from technological equipment, or under enlargement of column grid up to 24õ12 m, the most economically efficient type of frame is the one with all elements made of precast reinforced concrete. The building frame with a 24õ12 m column grid is in highest demand, as it marked by both manifold options of internal planning, and absence of metal structures, time-consuming installation and fire protection that comprise a considerable share of the overall construction budget. The protective structures of frame may be made of heated-insulated corrugated boarding, brick masonry, or hinged reinforced-concrete panels. The roofing of such frames is typically made up of heat-insulated corrugated boarding; however, in specific cases the loading capacity of reinforced-concrete frame is calculated for roofing made of ribbed or cored reinforced-concrete roof slabs.

Regardless of architectural and structural solutions, the precast reinforced-concrete frame of a building incorporates the following basic groups of elements: foundation of columns, columns, floor beams and roof beams. The Plant features the production facilities sufficient to provide for all structural demands of project organizations and customers. |
