Reinforced-concrete products
Reinforced-concrete products (RCP) fit for multiple applications and feature a range of valuable properties. Therefore, the RCPs are employed in the construction of residential and industrial buildings and objects (floor slabs, lintels, foundation blocks of walls); as well as for construction of roads for temporary and/or permanent use (road slabs), and, repair/routing of heating networks.
The reinforced-concrete structures are marked by a number of advantages that explain their wide application.
Firstly, concrete is long-lasting and resistant to external effects.
Secondly, concrete ensures anticorrosion protection for the reinforcement.
And, thirdly, due to the proper adhesion between concrete and steel reinforcement the two elements work together well, thus ensuring the widest scope of application of the physical-chemical properties of both.
The major advantage of precast reinforced-concrete technology lies in that the key technological processes occur at the factory. This provides for the high indices of production time and quality of structures. Typically, pre-stressed reinforced-concrete structures can only be manufactured under factory conditions.
Moreover, the cost of reinforced-concrete structures, inclusive of minor maintenance costs, usually never exceeds the cost of steel structures of same application, which is a considerable factor for construction. Particular advantages of reinforced-concrete structures are revealed in areas of high seismic activity.
